Hugh Brown
Senior Project Engineer

Hugh Brown, Senior Project Engineer, holds an honours degree in Mechanical Engineering from Queensland University of Technology.  He has more than nine years experience in environmental acoustics.  He is a specialist in the use of SoundPLAN for computer modelling of the impact of road and rail noise intrusion into residential developments as well as the impact of noise emission into communities from large commercial and industrial developments, most notably motorsport facilities and quarries.

Hugh has developed extensive experience in the acoustical design of detached residences and multi-unit dwellings to control transport noise intrusion.  Hugh brings sharp focus to these projects by applying his acoustical engineering skills to achieve the optimum design outcome, ie optimum acoustical design at minimum building cost.

Hugh is well versed in a broad range of Australian Standards, State and local government noise policies and Queensland Development Code requirements.  He has assisted with and presented papers to international acoustical conferences.  He also assisted with the preparation of evidence for a number of appeals in the Planning and Environment Court.
